Clairey is a choreographer, performer, and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her choreographic and research practices engage task-based improvisation, site-specific dance, ecological frames, and applied-neurophysiology. She constructs and/or foregrounds performance situations that operate as living systems where audience, performers, and environment are mutually implicated through perceptual and relational feedback loops.

Her work has been presented by the FACT/SF Summer Dance Festival and ODC Pilot 74. She was a 2025 Choreographic Fellow with AXIS Dance Company and an artist in residence with Deborah Slater Dance Theater through the Studio 210 Residency. In 2024, she completed an apprenticeship with AXIS Dance Company, performing work by Kayla Hamilton and Jorge Crecis in collaboration with Post:ballet and contributing to access-centered teaching and touring outreach. She has also performed and collaborated with Lizz Roman and Dancers, Amy Lewis, Ezra LeBank, and Nketchi Njaka.

Originally from California’s San Joaquin Valley, she holds a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies with an emphasis in Environmental Justice and Embodiment from the University of California, Berkeley. She has worked in special education through Oakland Unified School District, is certified in neuro-centric Essentials of Elite Performance through Z-Health Performance Solutions, and studies SmartFLOW Yoga with Annie Carpenter.
Clairey is an MFA Fellow in Dance at Smith College (2026-2028).
